My name is Melani and I am excited to begin my third season with the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. Like many girls on the squad I have been dancing since the age of three, but nothing beats performing in front of 90,000 screaming fans on a sunny afternoon at FedEx Field.
In addition to cheering at the games, I have enjoyed the amazing travel experiences I’ve had with the team. Since joining the squad, I have traveled to the Dominican Republic, Qatar, Djibouti, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Cancun, and Aruba!
Though I was born right here in Washington, D.C, I was raised in a suburb of Philly. I’ve been back in the area since I began my undergraduate career at American University. I earned my B.S. degree in Physics from American and recently earned my MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business at the University of Virginia.
I now work full-time teaching pre-kindergarten at a charter school in the District. Later this year I will be combining my classroom experience with my business degree and opening my own early childhood center.
When I’m not dancing or teaching you can usually find me hanging out by the pool, playing cards, watching movies, horseback riding, camping, white water rafting or enjoying a good book.
Redskins fans truly are the most dedicated and adoring fans in the NFL. Thanks for all your love and support. I look forward to another fun and exciting season.
