My name is Klohver and this is my second year as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader. I am a native Marylander and a life-long Redskins fan. Outside of cheering, I have an amazing and rewarding career as an attorney, licensed to practice in the state of Maryland and in Washington, D.C., the home of the best team in the NFL!
One of my most memorable moments as a child was in 1988 when the Redskins won the Super Bowl under the leadership of head coach Joe Gibbs and quarterback Doug Williams. (Williams is the best quarterback in NFL history!) My father, instead of waking me up to attend school, unexpectedly awoke me that cold winter morning to take me to the welcoming home parade for the Redskins, where a gracious and hilarious Hogette placed his signature pig-nose on me!
I also remember bringing a recording of "Hail to the Redskins" for show-and-tell at school and singing along with it for my class! How embarrassing--but nonetheless, those anecdotes are evidence of my long-spanning adoration for the Washington Redskins.
My love of dance also began very early in my life. At the age of three, I immediately realized after my first ballet lesson that I loved to dance! I continued studying ballet for 11 years. I became a member of my high school Pom Squad, where I served as co-captain my second year on the team, and as captain and choreographer my third year.
During my year as captain, my team won first place at the Maryland State Pom Competition. I was honored to bring home first place captain for my team at the same competition. I also had the pleasure that year to be chosen as a Universal Dance Association (UDA) All-Star.
In college, I danced for the university’s dance team for two years; the second year I had the pleasure of serving as captain and choreographer.
I then decided to focus more seriously on some of my other interests in life; law and politics. So I chose to attend law school. I now practice in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
Through it all, I could not deny my love for dance, so now having the opportunity to cheer with the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders has truly been one of the most amazing and gratifying times in my life. I now have 40 new "sisters" who are some of the most intelligent, bright and talented (and let’s not forget beautiful) women I’ve had the opportunity and pleasure to get to know.
I am also grateful to be trained by Donald Wells and Stephanie Jojokian, the best directors and choreographers with whom I’ve ever had the opportunity to work.
But I would be remiss to conclude my letter without thanking my family and friends. My mother and father are my role models, my best friends and the most important people in my world, and they are what I aspire to be.
I have a huge family and many good friends and sorors (skee-wee) who are my support system. They are my foundation and regularly encourage me to reach for the stars. Further, my best friend of 17 years has been the very best friend any person could ever ask for.
Last and most importantly, I thank God each day I wake for the chance to experience a new day, and without whom nothing would be possible, for "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." [Philippians 4:13]
So, loyal Redskins fans, there’s Klohver in a nutshell! I am so glad that you stopped by to visit. As always, thank you for your continued support and love for the team. Hope to see you in the stands!
