Hello Redskins Fans,
Jamilla is here, and I am ready to cheer! I’m 32 years old, originally from Newport News, VA, and I am in my sixth season and fourth year as a captain for the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. Along with cheering for my favorite team, I work full-time as an Account Executive in the Premium Season Tickets and Marketing department. Want seats? Call me!
I currently have the best seats in the house--the sidelines!
Off the sidelines, I enjoy being a role model for the cutest cheerleaders in the NFL--"The First Little Ladies of Football"--and will always cherish the amazing friendships, the great memories and the wonderful opportunities cheering for the Redskins has offered me.
Traveling is truly a passion of mine, and the one trip I will always hold dear to my heart is traveling to Hawaii to represent the Redskins Cheerleaders at the 2005 Pro Bowl. It is the biggest honor I have ever received, and many thanks to my teammates!
I’ve also had the opportunity to travel the world to perform for our US soldiers in Bosnia, Sarajevo, Kosovo, Italy, Cuba, Djubuti, Africa, Afghanistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Hondorus, and mostly recently Iraq. Iraq was a wonderful experience, and I am glad that I was able to bring a piece of home to our soldiers who sacrifice their lives each day for us. Many thanks to all of you, and we look forward to having you back home safely. I have also traveled to several exotic locations to shoot the Redskins Cheerleader Calendar, and to Los Angeles to shoot the September 2004 issue of Maxim magazine. And now that modeling is my new side gig, you can catch me modeling in the Washington, D.C., area.
Before becoming a part of the Burgundy and Gold family, I cheered and coached for the nationally-ranked coed and all-girl squads for the Green and Gold at George Mason University where I graduated with a B.A. in Communications.
Although I feel like I live at the stadium 24-7, I do enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, reading, and dancing for the Capitol Movement Project, a non-profit organization that promotes the development of dancers in the Washington, D.C., metro area. As well, I love to rhinestone accessories, shoes, hats, etc. …you name it, and I will add some “sparkle” to it. I am currently starting a business that will add a little “sparkle” to your life, so stay tuned!
Now..."Are you ready for some football?"
It is time to cheer on the best team in the NFL, and I need you here with me as the "12th Man," cheering your heart out. Redskins fans, you guys ROCK! Thanks for all your love and support for us, and the best football team in the NFL.
And last, but never least I want say many, many, many thanks to my loving family and friends for always being my biggest cheerleaders. You guys truly inspired me! I look forward to seeing everyone here at FedExField. And always remember: "Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened!"
Wink,
