It’s Chelsea here and I’m excited to be back for my fifth season as a Washington Redskins Cheerleader. Each season brings such excitement and variety; I just can’t get enough!
My love for performing began at the age of three when I entered my first acrobatics class, which launched into a 10 year gymnastics career. Once I entered high school, I joined the varsity cheerleading squad and the Northern Virginia All-Stars competitive team. I continued my cheerleading career into college where I cheered for George Mason University until I decided to try out for the “First Ladies of Football!”
From GMU, I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Events Management. Currently, I am working for Perfect Wedding Guide as an Account Executive for the Greater Washington DC area. In my spare time I have been able to help my Mom and Dad with our family winery, Potomac Point Winery & Vineyard. It has been very exciting to be involved with the family business from beginning to end, I was able to help with the planning of the vineyard, and watch the building of the facility come to fruition. I have learned to appreciate a glass of wine much more since watching the Italian Winemaker in the process of going from Grape to Glass. Cheers!
Spending time with my family and friends is a huge priority in my life--crab feasts are one of my favorite things to do! Traveling is also a passion of mine and through the Redskin’s organization I have been fortunate enough to travel around the world to such amazing places: Marco Island, Cancun, Aruba, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, UAE, Qatar and even Kyrgyzstan. Not to mention Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where our best calendar yet was shot this past June.
Be sure to watch Comcast SportsNet where I’ll be hosting Beauties on the Beach this summer! I’ll be giving you an inside look on the making of the 2010-2011 Washington Redskins Cheerleader Calendar. This year the sun, surf, and sand of the Paradisus Punta Cana Resort in the Dominican Republic served as our gorgeous backdrop. I’ll take you behind the scenes of some of the hottest shoots and I’ll introduce you to some of our new rookies. You don’t want to miss how we put together our amazing calendar! While we were in the Dominican Republic, I gathered some of my fellow cheerleaders and put together a fun workout regime. We wanted to share with you how we stay game day ready! You can check out First Ladies of Fitness on Inside the Redskins this fall. Saturdays starting at 10 AM on NBC, I’ll be there to give you a full hour of everything Redskins – player and coach features, game highlights, and of course the Redskins Cheerleaders!
My experiences as a Redskins Cheerleader has been truly rewarding. The adrenaline rush I experience when stepping onto the Redskins stomping ground each and every home game is an indescribable feeling. Our team has such an amazing variety of women; I feel as though I learn something new every day. This is the third year I have been given the opportunity of being a co-captain and to be chosen for this role out of all these remarkable women is a huge honor! I’m so happy to be a part of this organization and I look forward to another season as a Redskins Cheerleader. I truly feel blessed for all of the opportunities that have come my way and I want to send a special "Thank You" to my Mom and Dad for always supporting me.
Lastly, I would like to express my appreciation to all of our troops who fight everyday for this country. I am looking forward to performing in another Redskins Armed Forces Entertainment Tour soon. We send love and look forward to your safe return.
