Hi Redskins Fans!

My name is Abby and I’m thrilled to be back for my sixth season cheering on the best team in the NFL! This is my second season as a Captain and I’m continuously honored and grateful to have been chosen for this leadership role. Being a part of this amazing team of Thirty Nine beautiful, talented, and glamorous women is an honor and privilege - not to mention so much fun! I’m a born performer and love the experience of Game-Day more than anything!

I have been a dancer my entire life and dance truly is my passion. I trained at the Metropolitan Ballet Theater, studying ballet, jazz, modern and tap. I then attended the University of Arizona as a dance major and performed as a company member in their Dance Ensemble. I graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors degree in Psychology.

I’m also a member of Capitol Movement, Inc., a dance company that believes in diversity and “dance for all.”  Our nonprofit organization provides opportunities for Washington, D.C. area dancers to train and perform with top choreographers. We provide scholarships for local disadvantaged youth and underserved area dancers through our annual performances. Look out for our 2011 concert!

One of the most important and fulfilling aspects of being a Redskins Cheerleader is the opportunity to serve the community on behalf of the Redskins organization. One unique way we give back to our community is by traveling all over the world on tour to visit and perform for our troops. This is one of the best parts of my job as a First Lady of Football-- I absolutely love it!

I have participated in seven military appreciation tours and can’t wait for the next adventure! That’s almost four months of my life in a combat zone! I have traveled all over the world as a Redskins Cheerleader to amazing places: Cuba, Cypress Island, Djibouti Africa, Honduras, Italy, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Turkey, and the U.A.E.

I’m also grateful to say I had the opportunity in 2007 to visit the troops for two weeks in Afghanistan and two weeks over thanksgiving in Iraq. The people I met were unforgettable, the experiences I had were life changing, and the memories will last a lifetime. I am honored to have brought a little piece of home to all of our brave men and women fighting for our country all over the world. We are your biggest fans! You truly are America’s heroes!

Another unique opportunity I was lucky enough to participate in was cheering for the Bangalore Royal Challengers Cricket team in India. Our team traveled to India to participate in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier Cricket League. This new fast- paced cricket league combines sporting action with Bollywood glamour and, of course, a touch of American NFL style cheerleading! As a First Lady of Football I also traveled to Hong Kong to perform in the Chinese New Year Parade.

By far, the most exciting experience is Game-Day and it wouldn’t be the same without all of you Redskins fans cheering on our favorite team! I’m excited for another season! See you on the sidelines at FedEx Field. Don’t forget to say “Hi!” Go Redskins!
Love and "Cheers",
