The late Sean Taylor has been named to the 2007 AP All-Pro second-team roster at safety.

Taylor earned the honor playing in nine games for the Redskins last year. He suffered a knee injury in Week 10, sidelining him for two games. Then, on Nov. 27, Taylor died in a tragic shooting at his home in Miami.

At the time, the 6-2, 212-pound free safety had established himself as an elite player in the league.

Through 11 weeks, Taylor was leading the NFL in interceptions with five and also had 46 tackles (34 solo), one forced fumble and eight passes defended.

For his career, Taylor logged 344 tackles (245 solo), 12 interceptions, four forced fumbles and 41 passes defended.

Taylor, the Redskins’ first-round draft pick (fifth overall) in 2004, was also named a starter at the 2008 Pro Bowl next month. It was Taylor’s second Pro Bowl honor.

The last Redskins to be named to the All-Pro team were Jon Jansen and Santana Moss in 2005. Both Jansen and Moss were named to the second team that year.
