Holiday Programs

Redskins players and their families annually join the Hogettes and over 300 corporate volunteers from FedEx, Harris Teeter, Ryan Homes, and Wachovia to distribute Thanksgiving food baskets at FedExField to Prince George’s County, MD residents in need. Prince George’s County residents are determined eligible for participation through the Prince George’s County Social Services Department. The Redskins provide 3,000 families with a complete Thanksgiving food basket that includes a whole turkey provided by Harris Teeter and a selection of packaged and fresh food provided by Operation Blessing. Last year, over 36,000 pounds of turkey and over 108,600 pounds of packaged and fresh food was provided to area families in need.

In partnership with Antwaan Randle El and the El Foundation, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation annually hosts a holiday party for hundreds of underserved children in the Washington, DC area. The holiday party includes a chance to interact with Redskins players, visit with Santa Claus, and receive a brand-new winter coat and toy.

Each December, the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation transforms the Redskins locker room at FedExField into Santa’s Workshop filled with toys for over 1,000 deserving children in the Washington, DC area. Redskins players join the United States Marine Corps Toys for Tots volunteers to talk with the children and help them select a new toy.

Fans: Thank you for making the 2009 Toys for Tots Campaign successful! Over 800 toys and nearly $19,000 in donations was collected which resulted in the additional purchases of 2,000 toys.
