FAQ: Junior Redskins All-Star Dance Team
Q: Do you have to attend the camp to be a part of the team?
A: YES.
Q: If you are a current Junior Redskins cheerleader, do you make the team automatically?
A: NO, you must attend camp to audition.
Q: If you are current Junior Redskins All-Star Dance Team member, do you have to re-audition every year?
A: YES, you must attend camp every summer and re-audition.
Q: Do you have to attend every day of camp?
A: YES. This is required to be considered for the Junior Redskins All-Stars Dance Team.
Q: How many games does the Junior Redskins All-Star Dance Team perform at?
A: ONE halftime performance, plus a possible joint halftime performance with the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.
Q: Does the Jr. Redskins All-Star Dance Team compete in local competitions?
A: YES, we compete in 2-4 local competitions a season as well as a possible national competition in Orlando, Fla.
Q: What are the age requirements?
A: MUST be 7-17 years of age.
Q: Does the Washington Redskins organization supply uniforms?
A: Members of the Junior Redskins All-Star Dance Team purchase their own uniforms and dance shoes that they keep.
Q: Do you get free tickets to the game?
A: Tickets are not included. You must purchase your own tickets.
Q: Does my daughter have to attend all rehearsals?
A: Your child can miss up to three rehearsals without penalty.
Q: Does my daughter have to have previous dance training?
A: We highly recommend dance training even when your child is a member of our Junior Redskins All-Stars Dance Team.
Q: Should my daughter be enrolled in a dance school outside of her dance training with the team?
A: YES, our Junior All-Star Dance Team is a competition team and should not be the dancers’ sole location for training.
Q: Are there out of town opportunities?
A: Junior Redskins All Star members have been chosen to perform in The Capitol Movement Project at the Lincoln Theatre and for Debbie Allen at the Kennedy Center. The group has also traveled to Florida for a national competition.
